A General Municipal Election will be held in Cottonwood Heights to select a new mayor and two new council members.

Tim Hallbeck and current District 3 Council Member Mike Peterson will face off in the mayoral race to fill the seat currently held by Mayor Kelvyn Cullimore Jr., who decided not to run for another term. Cullimore has served as mayor since 2005, when the city incorporated.

Tali Bruce and Mike Hanson are running for the District 3 seat being vacated by Peterson, while Eric Kraan and Christine Mikell will vie for the District 4 seat being vacated by Tee Tyler, who also decided not to run for another term.

Cottonwood Heights utilized voting by mail for the primary and will use the same system for the Municipal Election on Nov. 7. Ballots will be mailed the week of Oct. 10. Voters may also cast ballots at county polling locations on Election Day, including Cottonwood Heights City Hall.
