Cottonwood Heights will conduct its Shakeout exercise on Saturday, April 22. In addition to surveying our neighborhoods to report the status of injuries via triage ribbons, a reception center and a full shelter will be set up at the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center.
All residents are asked to display ribbons on their front door or handrail by 9 a.m. so block captains can record participation. If you need new ribbons, you can contact your block captains. Please keep the ribbons after the exercise. They should be stored in an easily accessible location with other emergency supplies.
Stop by the Rec. Center between 9:30 a.m. and noon to look at the city's capabilities when partnering with the Red Cross to set up a shelter.
More information related to family and business preparedness will be available at the Rec. Center as well.
An emergency operations center will be set up at City Hall, and a pet shelter will also be in operation west of the Recreation Center. If you would like to volunteer, or need ribbons for your residence please contact Mike Halligan at 801-541-3482.
