The Utah Clean Cities Coalition honored Cottonwood Heights City for participation in “Idle-Free Awareness” efforts on Sept. 6 on the steps of the Utah State Capitol.

Cottonwood Heights was recognized for urging citizens to turn their vehicle engines off when stopped for more than a few minutes, thus reducing exhaust emissions that pollute the air in Utah, especially during winter inversions.

Mayor Kelvyn Cullimore and Councilman Mike Peterson were there to receive the honor, along with other civic, business and educational organizations.

Cottonwood Heights continues to urge citizens to reduce vehicle idling and help clear the air in our community.
