Six Bengals Earn Academic All-State Honors

Six Brighton High athletes are among the 25 students in Canyons District to have earned Academic All-State Honors in fall sports. The Utah High School Activities Association chooses students for their athletic and academic performance.

They are:

Girls Cross Country: Ellie Anderson

Girls Soccer: Megan Munger, Amelia Munson and Kaitlyn Conley

Boys Cross Country: Declan Gleason and Joshua Johnson

Cottonwood Heights Resident Amber Shill Re-Elected

Amber Shill, 2nd Vice President of the Canyons District’s Board of Education, was re-elected on Nov. 6 by the patrons of District No. 2 to represent Cottonwood Heights. Shill and her husband have four children who attend or have graduated from the Brighton feeder system. The District will host a Swearing-In Ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Snow Day: CSD’s Snow Closure and Delayed-Start Guidelines

Cold weather has rolled into Utah, which can bring heavy snow and, on rare occasions, lead to school cancellations and delayed starts. How can parents find out if their child’s school is open for business? Canyons District will notify parents via email or an automated phone call of any changes to the school day.
