Bicycle Lanes

Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District asks all residents to be aware of bicycle lanes in front of their homes, and to make sure that they do not place their waste and recycling cans in these lanes. Doing so can cause obstacles and hazards for bicyclists.

Recycling Education

This fall, WFWR will be visiting libraries and community centers throughout the district to provide education and materials on recycling. Please inquire at your local library or community center to find out when district representatives will be visiting that location, or contact Sustainability Coordinator Jeffrey Summerhays at 385-468-6337 to request a visit in your community.

Cart Placements

Please remember to keep your garbage/recycle/green carts at least 3 feet away from each other and from other objects, such as cars, trees or mailboxes. This space is needed for the automated collection arms of waste and recycling trucks to safely grab and empty the carts.

Fall Leaf Collection

The annual Fall Leaf Collection Program will begin on Oct. 15 and last through Nov. 30.

During this time, Cottonwood Heights residents can pick up leaf bags at:

•     Cottonwood Heights City Hall: 2277 E. Bengal Blvd.

•     Whitmore Library: 2197 E. Fort Union Blvd.

•     Wasatch Fire Station: 8295 S. Wasatch Blvd.

Leaf Bags can be dropped off at:

•          Bywater Park: 3149 Banbury Rd.

WFWRD leaf bags are limited to 10 bags per household, and available while supplies last. Residents can also use and drop off their own purchased leaf bags or lawn bags, as long as they only contain leaves.
