At their business meeting on Dec. 4, the Cottonwood Heights City Council appointed John Park as the city’s new manager. Mr. Park will take the reins from current city manager Liane Stillman, who is retiring after eight years of dedicated service.

Mr. Park comes to Cottonwood Heights from Highland City, Utah, where he has worked as City Administrator since June 2010. Previously, he spent more than twenty years working for the cities of Orem and Tooele in various capacities, including Police Officer, Director of Building and Development and Assistant City Manager. He also worked for many years as a business consultant in the private sector.

“We had dozens of very qualified applicants for the city manager position, but John stood out due to his experience and background,” said Mayor Kelvyn Cullimore, Jr. “That broad experience has allowed him to be a creative problem solver and develop the kind of management style we feel is a good fit with our city culture.”

Mr. Park said, “I am very excited to work with the mayor, council and staff as well as the great citizens of Cottonwood Heights.  I am grateful for the opportunity that has been extended to me and look forward to starting in January.”

Mr. Park will begin employment with Cottonwood Heights on Jan. 7.
