It's time for fireworks!

Fireworks are a spectacular sight, especially during the month of July in Utah. But as you get ready for the summer holidays, please follow these guidelines so that you, your friends and your family can celebrate safely and legally.

  • Make sure to buy fireworks from a licensed store or stand so that you know your fireworks are approved for use in Utah. They can be purchased legally from June 26 through July 26.
  • Inform neighbors of your plans and be aware of their concerns.
  • Never allow children to light or use fireworks.
  • Have a hose and a bucket of water ready if needed.
  • Never attempt to re-light a “dud.”
  • Do not alter or double up fireworks.
  • Do not use fireworks indoors, in a vehicle, or under an awning.
  • Use fireworks only in areas that will not burn or allow a fire to spread.
  • Do not use fireworks in urban interface areas (e.g. east of Wasatch Boulevard, Crestwood Park).
