Mountain Accord Community Meeting Planned
Posted on 11/05/2014

A Cottonwood Heights community meeting has been slated for Wednesday, November 12 to help residents learn more about the Mountain Accord initiative.

Mountain Accord is a multi-phase initiative that seeks to make critical decisions regarding the future of the central Wasatch Mountains. It will holistically evaluate and address issues and goals centered on four topic areas: environment, recreation, transportation, and economy.

Mountain Accord is a collaboration between public and private interests, including state and local governments, federal agencies, and business and grassroots organizations. Public involvement is an important component of this effort, and input received from the public will be used to inform and guide the process.

Positioned between two major canyons, Cottonwood Heights is also particularly situated in the middle of the Mountain Accord mission. We invite all to attend a community meeting to learn more about the project and provide feedback regarding our city, our neighborhoods, our environment, our economic impact and our distinctive connection to future transportation needs.

The meeting will take place on November 12, 6-8 p.m. in the Cottonwood Heights Training Room located at 1265 E. Fort Union Blvd. (1st floor).

Please plan on attending and getting involved in the future of our canyons.
