The Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center, a longtime community partner with Cottonwood Heights, was presented with the 2011 Utah Tennis Association Organization of the Year award at the association’s annual meeting at the Cottonwood Country Club on Jan. 26.

CH Rec was honored for its dedication to fostering community tennis programs and helping them thrive. The Utah Tennis Organization noted that after the recreation service district took over tennis programs from Salt Lake County 15 years ago, they added additional courts and a full range of tennis programs including lessons, tournaments, leagues, and 10-and-under tennis. The rec center currently manages 11 courts in six different parks within the service area, and two new courts will be added when Mountview Park opens in the spring.

The Organization of the Year award was established in 2007 and is presented annually in recognition of the services offered by a Utah Tennis Association member and to honor their support to the association in helping to grow tennis participation at all levels.

Cottonwood Heights congratulates the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center and its staff on their award and expresses appreciation for their valuable contributions to our community.
