There will be plenty of chills and thrills in the air during the “Monster Mash” sponsored by Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center and Cottonwood Heights City on Friday, October 24.

The event will be held at the Cottonwood Heights Rec. center on 7500 S. 2700 East. From 5 to 7 p.m.

Some of the fun will include a “pumpkin alley,” featuring over 40 pumpkins carved out by the Cottonwood Heights Youth City Council.

There will be ice-skating, a treat bag for all kids, Halloween-related games in the gym and coloring activities.

You don’t want to miss “Scales and Tails” between 5:45 -6:45 p.m. It’s a 45-minute educational show featuring all kinds of “creepy crawlies,” like spiders, scorpions, lizards, a tortoise, and snakes. Other exotic animals will include a giant lizard, a giant snake, a giant tortoise, and a baby alligator or crocodile.

Kids and parents are encouraged to attend wearing their favorite Halloween costumes.

The Monster Mash is a free event for kids 12 years old and younger.
